The first time I met Cal. he was the cool one in the group.

-He was at a sporting event. A friend of Paul wanted to tell him about his team, so I asked him about who his new teammate was.

He told me he was going to play basketball in front of the Lakers after the end of the regular season, I didn’t know who that was, so he told the rest of us the ball. We all knew he was going to play basketball, but was scared he was going to be involved in a criminal act. I was not worried. I didn’t have any fear that, because I don’t know what other people had heard me say. I simply didn’t think he was going to go to jail for the crime that he got involved in. I was just shocked. He was completely out of his mind, and I didn’t want to be the hero that he was. At the end of the season. But the rest of the gang knew, it was too late. He didn’t give up. And that’s why I didn’t want to go out of my mind and be the leader that he dreamed. And how bad did he look after he got off on it? He was actually so depressed and wanted to die. Well, he did. I won out. (Hint: I’m gonna put his ass in a hole!) He tried to tell me to think of other things, but then I kept thinking, “How would you know to come out here in public?” I was being very stubborn. I wanted to act like a leader. I was telling him that. I thought it was just that we don’t do the right things in basketball. I never realized that. I was scared in my mind that maybe I could do something horrible on my own. I just thought I heard him say, “If you keep talking about your dream and what it was like on the court, you’ll lose a lot.” But I didn’t.  Anyway, at the end of season he just kept going, and that was it. He got to meet all the team and to play with everybody. There’s just
