Communities and Urbanization
Identify two issues related to urbanization in a town or city of your choice and discuss them from a sociological perspective.
The first example of urbanization is the city of Huntington Beach trying to get rid of the wetlands here to make more condos that are right on the beach. For some time now it has been known that many people were trying to get rid of our wetlands in order to build more condos and homes on this area since it is right next to the beach. Over time you can slowly see the different parts of our wetlands here disappearing as they clear out the area for more homes and condos which are not needed here unlike the wetlands.
The second example is a baseball field that is behind my parents home that they are trying to do the same thing with. This little league field to be exact has been there since my parents bought their home in the 80s and its the very same field that I even played little league at. For the past 5 years or so people have been sending notices to the home owners trying to get them to approve the demolition of the field for condos by telling them things like they will get a discount on the condos, and that they will benefit from the condos being put there too.
Its just sad to see how many people dont appreciate having land anymore the way God created it. Everyone just looks at everything as a profit now. Or a potential
