However as England became more industrialised, barking Abbey also started to expand into a focal point for the community. It usually takes in 270 students per year.-The school attars many pupils from the London borough of barking and daghnam and Redbridge.  -The barking abbey sixth form holds over 600 students, students of AS, A2 and BTEC courses open to 16-19 year olds.-The schools has two sites that are about a mile apart, the first site is known as lower school for years 7-8 and the second site is known as the upper school for years 9-13.
