The Smartphone and iOS market is increasing.

The following information comes from the Smartphone Manufacturers Association (SMA) press statement:

We now have more than 2 million Smartphones in the USA, Canada, and Europe on sale in just over a year (January 2014 to December 2014). We can’t yet provide a complete list of our products or services. There is no indication yet that our Smartphone and iOS sales will keep growing at this same rate of growth or the pace at which our products are going to improve (in 2015). As we approach a transition to 10 (early 2015) and a 10-year deployment timeline, we want to make sure we provide the best possible platform for our customers so they get the most out of the Smartphone and iOS platforms. We can’t be sure that Smartphone and iOS can continue to grow, but we also recognize that the growth pace is expected to continue, to a level not seen before or within a generation. As we work to accelerate these and other products, we believe that there will be a more consistent growth rate (or even “growth rate”, as some manufacturers call it), between 4 and 5% a year or 2 to 3% to 3.5 percent a year.
