Summary of the book I read: “Animal Farm” written by George Orwell. Group 2.
Mr Jones had just felt asleep when every animal of the Manor Farm went to the barn to listen Major. This old and wise pig had had a dream the night before and wished talk to every animal of the farm about it. There, Major talked about his long life of slavery, of his disappointed hope of freedom, and of a revolution against human beings. Major died three days after. But he had so inspired animals of the farm that three pigs: Snowball, Napoleon and Squealer, developed a way of think, Animalism, which involve a revolution against human beings to become free and independent. Once revolution was done and Mr Jones and his men were kicked out of the farm, Snowball and Napoleon became the leaders of the revolution. They created new symbols for the farm, now called “Animal Farm”, a flag, a song: “Beasts of England”, and an ideology: “Animalism”. This ideology inspired 7 commandments.
A democratic system in the farm were installed, every decision in the farm was discuss with every animal in the farm then voted. There was decided that every animal would do a work according to their capacity, physical or mental. Pigs had the leadership of the farm because they were the most intelligent of the animals.
Snowball and Napoleon, the two uncontested leader of the farm, were in conflict on everything and the farm became fast divided in two parts: Snowballs followers and Napoleons one. One day Snowball declared that it would be a good thing to build a windmill to create electricity for more of leisure for animals. Napoleon was against as usual. But the day of the vote, nine enormous dogs came into the barn where animals were assembled. Then they began to look after Snowball and tried to kill him. Those dogs were Napoleons one. And when they came back after having probably kill Snowball, Napoleon
