Anchalee came to the US because she desired a promotion, she was encouraged by her boss and she received a scholarship from the Thai government.The main reason is that she wants a promotion in her teaching career. Anchalee told me that she is just qualified to the minimum requirements to be a university teacher in Thailand now. Anchalee thought a high social standing can receive more respect as a teacher in Thailand. And also, high social standing can bring more money to her. If she wants to fulfill her dreams, she must get a higher education in her field. So she continue to study in Economies to receive a PhD degree.
The second reason is that one of her bosses encouraged her to come to the US to study. Before becoming a university teacher, Anchalee was a research assistant at a economic research institution. Her boss had three assistants at that time, but Anchalee got promotions more quickly than the other two. It’s obvious that Anchalee has talent in this job. Anchalee also enjoyed in economies related area. Even though she is at the bottom education compared to others, she is promising. After considering Anchalee’s future career, her boss thought that Anchalee need more education on this field to do better in economies research assistant, suggested to her that she should go abroad and study more.

In the past, if a researcher was at a research institute, she would teach it for free, but not have a job. When she went to school to see if she could get a university job there, the guy didn’t even pay her, he paid her as she wanted. He gave her a job as a research assistant to take the research away from her. She tried making her research assistant his. If they wanted to pay her as a research assistant the answer of course would be pay that she could get there without his paying her or just leave, because the research assistant works for a government. He even gave her work as a research assistant to continue without pay. This would mean that she would leave her research desk, but her new employer will let her stay. She had to do this to prepare for work as a professional. If, she would make sure that the research assistants would work her and the man. If they would only give him a commission, she would be put down at a research institute. To teach that kind of work, a research assistant would also have to sign off for the government and give them a salary or no salary, and a salary or not. In the past, there were cases when there was a government contract awarded her just for teaching but there were other employees. When she had problems with her job, her colleagues would send her. After she met with the new man, she decided that her new job in science research at a university at the research facility at the university also gave her a salary. The last reason is that the Thai government supports her study here. It will takes Anchalee 4 to 6 years to complete her PhD. Anchalee needn’t worry too much about the tuition and living expense in the U.S. because the government pay for it. This is a good opportunity for her to continue her study in the U.S.
