According to Borza and Bordean (2008) “While managers are able to influence the factors from the internal environment, they can do nothing or little in terms of changing or controlling the external factors such as government policies for example.” (p. 1624). The following are examples and results of Mambo Seafood SWOT Analysis:

Resources, Capabilities and Core Competencies
To complete an analysis of the Internal Organization, Mambo Seafood takes in consideration the following elements: Resources, Capabilities and Core competencies. Then, we split the resources into tangible resources (able to quantified and observed) and intangible resources (created over time, attached to the company’s history and are hard to be imitated). According to Won and Packianathan (2016) “The foregoing analysis of intangible resources leads to the suggestion that the intangible resources of the organization may indeed be the contributing resources in the sense they facilitate the garnering of the more tangible resources” (p. 4).

Some examples of both tangible and intangible Mambo Seafood resources refer to the most important aspects to sell our products such as its well-maintained facilities, the innovative new recipes and LOT’s, the different internal reporting methodologies, the specialized kitchen labor (many restaurants have employees with 5+ years of Mambo experience), its unique recipes which include special ingredients and a great and renewed website.

Once both intangible and tangible resources are combined, these resources turn into capabilities. Capabilities are needed to complete tasks necessary to operate the restaurant business. Knowledge and experience are key concepts to execute the company capabilities through the company’s human capital. Some examples of Mambo’s capabilities are the inventory control and POS’s systems, the renewed launched social media marketing plan and customer service and our employee retention and turn over programs.

Capabilities are utilized to be turned into competitive advantages for any company over its competitors. Core competencies are also used to distinguish a specific company and shows the company’s personality. Mambo Seafood’s core competencies are its unique Mambo rice, the R&D department which includes food innovation. Food innovation includes doing special Limited Time Offers (LTO’s) depending on specific season during the year. Providing a “Mambonifico” service is another example of core competencies in the company which reflects that our customers have an excellent overall experience every time a customer visit us.

Competitor Analysis
Competitors are defined as companies or organizations who make business in the same market and offer similar products or services which target similar customers.
