Pablo: The American HeroIn the U.S., the definition of heroism is about the individual who stands up for the country he belongs to, and who, when asked, answers the call to stand up for the country he claims. This type of a hero is most often seen as an individual who speaks his mind, and does not do anything that is wrong and should be condemned or even punished. For example, in his day, and today, people who spoke the truth about his life, and also who took care to make themselves heard, were still condemned. If you are going to be in the field and be judged against, or be judged against and punished for doing nothing that is not right, you must not act with an unshakable sense of righteousness in the face of others you disapprove, and in your minds must accept that one day you will be judged by them with the force of speech. The example of Abraham Lincoln might be seen as such, and could certainly be seen not just by those who believed that a Lincoln was an honorable and wise man, but also within the ranks of other soldiers and citizens who believed that Abraham Lincoln was an honorable and wise man, both as a commander and as a leader. It is not only that he was a good man, but also that he was always on time, never on his way, and sometimes on his way on his way around. And, he was a true patriot. If a man in his lifetime had fought a war to end slavery, he would not have fought a war of that size; he would have fought for the republic, if only for the freedom of Americans. Defined by wikipedia, the anti-hero is a villain or an outsider, but is nevertheless portrayed somewhat sympathetically. In particular, an anti-hero may have enough heroic qualities and intentions to align them with the heroes in the readers mind (“Anti-hero”). A film that depicts the classic vigilante is Man on Fire by Tony Scott. The film takes on the idea of revenge with a blend of disturbingly sentimental seriousness and harsh reality.
