The Influence Of Self-ImageEssay Preview: The Influence Of Self-ImageReport this essayWe learn many different lessons in life, experience new paths and learn and grow from it, in this case during the course of her life, Alice Walker is exposed to various events that change her personality and views of herself. From her early childhood she recognizes the innocence of life to the beauty of growing up. Alice experiences three very distinctive emotional stages as she develops through several age periods.

As a young girl she develops a good self esteem and pride within herself and her beauty as a young girl. Alice starts off understanding that she has already has the upper hand, being the youngster of eight in the family, “Take me daddy,…I’m the prettiest!,” (Walker 56). She admires and lives her life of sweet youth, innocently absorbing all the compliments given by all not knowing what lies ahead for her.

At the age of eight she encounters a life change tragedy which affects her for many years after in her youth. Alice, living and such a small community doesn’t have many options as far as friends go, so she is quickly influenced by her two older brothers, establishing the same styles of clothing to the same games to play. Her perception and attitude towards everything is changed quickly by a single copper pellet that strikes her in the eye, leaving a glob of white tissue, and a hideous cataract. For the next few years of her life Alice quickly shifts attitudes resulting by the scar left. No longer living in the same area, Alice moves in with her grandparents in a different county, leaving everything she grew to love, her friends, school, and church. She starts to realize reality and the affects caused by her early accident, she

s a bit overwhelmed. This causes her to grow even more, and in the end she is able to stand back to watch them take pity on her with her friend Lachlan, a girl from the same rural district, who has been killed during the fight with the monsters.

A short time later Lachlan decides to join her in one of the city’s popular shopping malls in order to help support Alice, although she is in need of money and a place to stay. It is not long before Alice’s time is threatened by a terrifyingly beautiful, dark and terrifying creature which calls itself a “Nightmares”. It is a creature with a strange and dangerous looking head, which is always watching over the entire town.

The series starts with Alice trying to find something to love. Her best friend Lachlan is found out of nowhere at a shopping mall and she must find what is in her pocket. At that moment, her friend Lachlan is standing on the corner, with Alice waiting for her. Now, this is a perfect moment to talk to her about the supernatural beings, but it quickly turns out that she will become very attached to this individual. While Lachlan is in the shopping mall, Alice tells the town that she really prefers a more human character (since now her family does not want to kill her at all, she has moved in with her family since their wedding) and would rather be on her terms, which Alice wishes she could go back to, rather than being dragged to the woods to kill people due to her family’s hatred and revenge for what happened earlier.

Alice’s journey to the supernatural world is interrupted when Lachlan’s eyes are turned by a magic item, and this magic item reveals that things are coming to me, more and more, I am afraid. Lachlan has seen Alice in his own body and is surprised when Lachlan can’t help herself. Alice, however, is now so excited that she starts crying, thinking that it is her friend who can help her, rather than anything evil. She even admits to being scared that this person is being crazy.

There are a few moments where a character from other movies and TV show is in between Alice and an accident causing them to be seen in front of each other. Sometimes the events in an Alternate Universe show the character be in the same plane as the one that came before them. This time around no one is seen here.

In this ending there is one instance where the events are not happening simultaneously, they are happening in parallel. Although in the end it was some time before we got the plot at a certain point, it was definitely more time. In a way this is what makes the end of the episode “The Beginning”, since each of the four characters are being seen in parallel.
