Short History of Company/Organization
Al Ain Distribution Company (AADC) is a public joint stock company registered and incorporated in the United Arab Emirates under Law No 2 of 1998 on 1 January 1999 with Head Office at Al Ain. AADC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority with a fully paid capital of AED Billion 1,530,000,000. (www.aadc.ae.)
AADC is one of ADWEAs (Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority) group companies. AADC was established in 1998 and it is a transformation of former Water and Electricity Department. AADC is the sole distributor of water and electricity in the Eastern Region of Abu Dhabi (Al Ain city and its surrounding rural areas). This includes the ownership, operation and maintenance of the water and electricity distribution network assets, meter reading, and services for the supply of water and electricity. Description of Products or Services Provided
The main products that AADC distribute are Water & Electricity. Moreover, AADC has many essential services, which are related to the water and electricity sector, like:
Maintenance and operation of a network of distribution assets
Testing of water quality through its Laboratory service
Customer interfaces (customer billing, revenue collection, call centre operation)

The mission statement of AADC as it is stated in their website is: “To distribute water and electricity in a reliable, secure, safe, environmentally responsible & cost-effective manner”

There are more than 13 branches of AADC cashiers and customer services counters all over Al Ain and some of the rural areas to facilitate the work for all AADC customers. Some of the branches are: Al Souq, Industrial Area, Al Hayar, Al Saad, Al Wagan, Mezyad, Municipality, Al Qow, Al Yahar, Suwaihan, and Al Khazna
Organizational Chart
Al Ain Distribution Company has a Hierarchical Organizational Chart with many levels under each other. This type of chart is mostly used in large organizations and Government Corporation with different level of management, power and authority under each other.
Employees
The number of AADC employees at the end of 2008 was about 2045. AADC is following the emiratization scheme in order to that they seek the local employees rather than expatriates. Most of the staff in AADC is from both genders. Women in AADC are assigned for indoor jobs but most men are in indoor and outdoor jobs.
Functions and Levels of Management
The board of directors of AADC is located in Abu Dhabi and headed by Mr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazroui and below him is the Managing Director of AADC, Mr. Saeed Saif Al Ameri and both of them are considered as top managers level in this company.
Furthermore as it is shown in the above diagram the managers in orange color boxes are considered as middle line managers. After that, the people below them are the head of divisions in blue color boxes are the first line mangers.
