From the condotels to the budget hotels, all of them have their own benefits. However, none share the same leisure appeal as the resort hotel. Their distinctive qualities such as their scenery, more tranquil guest and a more quality work environment for the staff, set them apart from the rest.        Per the Introduction to Hospitality 7th, there are about 350 resort hotels are in the United States. These resorts are best known for their location. The location of a resort is very important because it determines the type of customers and the room occupancy percentage or ROP. Per the Journal of Quality Assurance in Hospitality and Tourism, advantages to the location of a resort would be the city the it is in, the regional infrastructure, and how attractive the region is as a business location. Resorts are a good asset for the lodging industry because they are good for business and pleasure. This benefit can keep them profitable in the months where they usually do not have business. The destination is an important part of resort because it sets the tone for how the guests are going to enjoy themselves.

Resort Hotels are unique in the way that their guests are treated. Guests tend to stay at resorts longer than they do transient hotels, so they usually get to know the staff better. They also tend to be more relaxed, due to the resort having about everything they need. Guests can relax as a family or by themselves, enjoying the beautiful scenery. The variety of options guests have at resorts is another reason why they are more relaxed than at transient hotels. Having happier, more tranquil guests lead to a happier staff. The staff can enjoy a better work environment due their guests being more at ease. They have all the work of a transient hotel, but more fun due to the tranquility. This in turn is seen by the guest, who respond by being even happier.        In conclusion, resort hotels are different from their transient counterparts due to their beautiful scenery, relaxed guests and happy staff. The admirable location relaxes the guest, which in turn makes the staff happier. This leads to a pleasurable work environment that surpasses all other lodging work experiences.                                                                                         153338                                                                                        10/19/16
