The Toyota Production SystemEssay title: The Toyota Production SystemThe Toyota Production SystemA Case Study of Creativity and Innovation in Automotive EngineeringR.BalakrishnanINTRODUCTIONAutomobile ManufacturingForty years ago, Peter Drucker dubbed it “the industries of industries.” Today, automobile manufacturing is still the worlds largest manufacturing activity. After First World War, Henry Ford and General Motors Alfred Sloan moved world manufacture from centuries of craft production(led by European firms(into the age of mass production. Largely as a result, the United States soon dominated the world economy.

Toyota Production SystemAfter Second World War, Eiji Toyoda and Taiichi Ohno at the Toyota motor company in Japan pioneered the concept of Toyota Production System. The rise of Japan to its current economic pre-eminence quickly followed, as other companies and industries copied this remarkable system. Manufacturers around the world are now trying to embrace this innovative system, but they are finding the going rough. The companies that first mastered this system were all head-quartered in one country-Japan. However, many Western companies now understand Toyota Production System, and at least one is well along the path of introducing it. Superimposing this method on the existing mass-production systems causes great pain and dislocation.

Toyota Production SystemThe Toyota Motor Co. in Japan (Toyota) is the largest and most successful motor OEM in the world. It combines the strengths of a modern-day car OEM with a unique engine and transmission manufacturing process. This process allows the team’s car to be built by small, independently located contractors who are willing to invest in high quality parts and materials. Toyota’s efforts resulted in Toyota achieving a new standard of manufacturing by the end of 2015-16. In this effort it was a major breakthrough for the Toyota group in the development of its engine system and transmission. The Toyota Production System and the Honda-based vehicle that became the first car to be equipped with the Toyota engine-system used in a factory to drive the future development of the industry.

Toyota’s General Motors company is making significant progress on its efforts to bring out the best of the Japanese market in the Toyota and Honda models. The most recent update to the Honda-based Toyota Camry for the Camry line is a significant update to the design and construction of three generation-size models – the 2015 Camry 6 and 2015 Camry 7. The Camry 6 is the only current member of the Toyota Camry family. It features redesigned, more popular models such as the 2015 Camry 7. The six-speed automatic transmission makes for convenient transport. All of Honda’s upcoming 3.3L and 3.8L models feature more sophisticated components and include new, compact, and upgraded power systems in new engine kits.

Toyota Engine Replacement ProgramThe Toyota Electronic Design Development and Test Centre (YEARCT) in Tokyo is an important part of Toyota’s engine program. YEARCT consists of four teams – the Toyota Center for Science, Technology, Engineering Research, and Development. YEARCT is led by Eiji Toyoda at Toyota Motor, an American company headquartered in Yokosuka, Japan. The group has been involved with the Toyota Development and Test Centre (YEARCT) for ten years now since its foundation in 2002.

Toyota Engine SystemDesign A key part of Toyota’s new engine system design has been the use of a single rotor that is designed using a high-speed, rigid body design. This rotor is created by having numerous mechanical components in different positions to provide more friction for the front and rear gears as well as for different shaft forces. The Honda-based model that became the first “high yield” car to use the Toyota rotor is still in production. Toyota has also modified the design to give it more control and control over the torque production. The team is working on integrating the Toyota system into a new transmission to increase efficiency, and to support additional power from internal combustion engines.

Toyota Engine Sourcing Toyota Engine is a joint effort of Toyota, Honda, Toyota Direct Engineering, and Toyota Vehicle Development. In addition to the two teams working
