Weaa Radio Station Case
Executive summary:
WEAA is a non-profit, National Public Radio station that serves the state of Baltimore. It is owned by Morgan State University and has been in operation since January 10, 1977. It is a community oriented radio station, a multicultural audience with social, political, and multicultural programs and music. The station is committed to academic excellence and professional development and training of students interested in broadcasting careers.

Jabari Owens is the radio’s General Manager, Corin Fiske is Director of News and Public Affairs, Narius Coleman is Assistant Program and Music Director and the Host of “In the Groove” show, Sharyn Johnson is a volunteer and Host of “Real Money” show, and Effifaq Mohammad is a volunteer and Host of “Listen Up” show.

Recently WEAA has been undergoing some problems which have affected the growth and development of the station. These problems include; low morale among workers especially the volunteers at the station, lack of organizational structure, lack of transparency and integrity amongst hosts on their various shows, lack of competent workers, different perceptive of what the station should be and worker’s perceptive of Corin Fiske.

Three models would be used to analyze the problems at the station and recommendation would be provided on how best change can implemented. A new vision statement would be created as part of the change process in the station. These issues are examined below in more details.

Introduction
Organizational Change is defined as planned alterations of organizational components to improve the effectiveness of the organization. These components include the organization mission and vision, strategy, goals, structure, processes or system, technology, and people in an organization. When an organization enhances their effectiveness, they increase their ability to generate value for those they serve.

This report seeks to examine the case at WEAA radio station, its managerial and strategic problems and to provide recommendation for change in at the station. Three models would be used to examine the problems at WEAA and how the change can affect the organizational structure of an organization if not managed properly.
