Bureaucracy Essay
Bureaucracy is a concept in sociology and political science referring to the way that the administrative execution and enforcement of legal rules is socially organized. Many fail to realize that the school is not what makes bureaucracy, its the Administration. Bureaucracy has a vertical pyramid-like power structure with many more offices, bureaus and employees located at the base than at the top. The impotent base of a bureaucracy interfaces with those it is intended to serve, such as the President. Voorhees College Administration is a prime example of bureaucracy within our school system.

The president of the United States, Mr. Barrack Obama, and his job is to make sure that his administrative teams are doing their jobs, as in making the citizens happy. Voorhees College President Dr. Cleveland Sellers job is to also make sure his Admistrative teams are making sure the students here at Voorhees are getting the education they need. Unlike the Bureaucracy created within the government system, Voorhees College instead of have the three branches we only work with one which is the Executive Branch. The Executive branch deals with the only thing that can classify Voorhees as a bureaucracy and thats with the admistration.

The Admistration deal with people who can take charge and they the person who is in charge of a certain department. Voorhees executive cabin consist (Excutive Cabinet, 2009) of Dr. Cleveland L. Sellers Jr. whom is the president and CEO, Dr. Carl Carpenter whom is the Executive Vice President & Chief Academic Officer, and Mr. Samuel Blackwell whom is the Vice President, Planning, Information Management & Technology. These three gentlemen are extremely important when it comes to getting things done. The task to run the government and a School, are giving to a couple of strong individuals whom the president feels are acceptable and are dedicated into completing the task and making sure things will run smoothly.
