Technological SegmentAs Increase in web services and also increase in Internet penetration even more in tier II cities and also mobile penetration across rural villages also increasing tremendously will widen the opportunities for Nestle to sell its products. In the Research & Development Department of Nestle, Technology play very important role in identifying the processes and also during execution phase. Nestle has developed various technologies and it’s the world Leader of technologies and processes in large number of food technologies.Different Technologies Of Nestle:Nestle being the world leader in large number of technologies that are used in R&D Department, the following are most important in delivering new product for sale, they are:i) Fermentation and Probioticsii) Extrusioniii) Healthier fatsiv) Foam Booster technologyv) Malt Extractionvi) Portion Dispensing SystemsThe above six technologies are broadly used in all the research work that currently happening and each and every technique leading to delivering better product for consumers. While dealing with the molecular interaction in initial stage and also first look of intestinal cells and also understanding the better characteristics of mechanism that undergoes will be tested in R&D of Fermentation and Probiotics. Extrusion technology will be used to test the expertise of filled bars, snacks, chocolates and breakfast cereals. Using of Natural tested oils instead of hydrogenated fats products Healthier fats will be implemented. In the production of creamy Nescafe which was longer lasting than regular form Foam Booster technology will be used. For the products like Milo which basically means less quantity of sucrose and more of carbohydrates and in this kind of production Malt Extraction technology will be used and Portion Dispensing Systems will be mainly used in the maintenance of beverage systems of Nestle.Recently Nestle able to find out the cooking methods in high altitude areas especially near Switzerland with its technological methods and grup of scientists from Nestle research centre travelled to world’s highest point and did their experiments and they succeeded in their attempt. Its almost 3650 metres from sea level and after performing series of experiments at highest point and also the same set of series of experiments conducted in lab which is almost 830 metres above sea level and finally concluded that the tastes of both categories were one and same and it signifies the quality of Nestle products and also its advanced technology standards that are in use while producing various food products in product line. Nestle also implementing its research in the areas of cutting edge maternal nutrition and in genetics area it concentrating on epi-genetics part as well. Nestle also had its mark in skin care thats is making various health partnerships and to address based on this for various growing skin health needs that are arising day by day. It also doing its research on food products of other animals other than humans and recently nestle launched food products especially related to dogs in United States.

Out of all this advanced technol0gies that was in usage, the most important one is the bench scale fermentation technology that Nestle will be using in the Product development stage is much more useful to produce healthy product for the consumers. By understanding what each country asks for, Nestle could market difference product according to the customer demand in difference country and it is already proven that the technology factors are important for Nestle Company. Socio-cultural SegmentNestle actually involves in various social initiatives apart from selling it’s products to make a difference in society. Quality goes well beyond the product that is coming from Nestle is their strategy while implementing this social activities. Understanding the cultural differences and social imbalance Nestle implemented various activities involving Nutrition, water and the Environment, Agriculture sector of Rural development. Nestle implementing Recycling methods and it’s bottles are made with 25 % of recycled material. While improving the crop quality and environmental sustainability of farmers Nestle will be supporting with its various advanced technologies and also providing different trainings to farmers for better understanding.Considering the well fare programmes and the products that were supported for srilankan school children and also the characteristics that coincide to the firm’s aggressiveness of using technology especially that this is also the tie of the influx of various technologies especially in Europe creates major impact in society. Rural schemes and programs that Nestle will be helping around 7 lakh farmers to improve their farming practises and also Nestle continuously working to reduce emission of greenhouse destroying gases.
