Ephesians 2:10, “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advanced for us to do.” is the main idea and center of this chapter. The purpose of discipline is restoration, and the results of restoration ought to be fellowship and ministry. There are two points really jump out to me, one is that God makes us again when we refuse and feel not ready to His call or plan for us; and the other point is that God will get His work done either with me or without me, but I am a loser if I quit. The second one is slightly related to the discussion board for session five. Sometimes, as I know my sin(like little faith) and those bad things that I’ve done before, I feel that I’m nobody so how can I serve people and bring glory to God; but here says that the failures of those men (in the bible) didn’t stop God from accomplishing His purpose because He made them again and used them in a mighty way. How amazing it is! When Jesus paid for our sin on the cross and we are willing to repent and surrender, God can make us new and use our lives in a great and honor way that is far from what we can imagine. I am so thankful that God didn’t only pick up the good and righteous men and talented people to serve Him, but the smallest, the most weakest, the ordinary people. The truth of Ephesians 2:10 also gives us confidence and courage when the enemy attacks us or when our work seems to be in vain. We know that when God calls us, He enables us and He sees us through because He is the one who prepares us in advanced for good works, and He always keeps His promises, as we seen in both old and new testaments, and helps us do what humanly speaking we are unable to do. We are all ordinary people, but with God, we are extra-ordinary! 🙂
