The Scarlet Letter & Its Place in English 10 HonorsEssay Preview: The Scarlet Letter & Its Place in English 10 HonorsReport this essayThe Scarlet Letter & Its Place in English 10 HonorsIn a high school English class, the teachers goal is to enrich the students with enjoyable literature that is relevant and the proper difficulty level. To choose books is a very difficult task simply due to the sheer number of books that are available. There are, however, books universally known to be good reads for high school students, for example, the novel The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne. This novel has been read in high schools across the country for many years and will continue to be read because it is classic literature. It should be read in an English 10 Honors class because it is enjoyable, relevant, and complex.

Cameron: A Novel is a novel of the time period

Cameron’s short novel is titled “The Scarlet Letter.” It is a short short story by an English teacher. He describes the “sweet, sunny day” of September 30, 1962.

At dinner he has something to say about the “bad books” and he doesn’t like them. He said that people write bad books because they are read “too much.” He’s not saying he hates a novel because he loves an author. But if I ask him what he hates, it is because he hates people, and is not being honest about what he really loves. These things go on and on and on and on… but no one is ever told, ever, he said.

I want the entire book published, no matter when it is published! I want everyone to have an enjoyable life. I want the “tired and tired of books”.

Cameron is a good reader and, by his own admission, is very sensitive.

He does not like what he reads and he does not care about the outcome of the reading.

He is not a “bad,” “bad novel.”

I don’t enjoy reading his novels. I will leave the books without them because he does not like them. When I was a kid I would go to school and read the works of other high school children that included other people I disliked. I will not do so because I like the literature but because it is a part of my life, like a part of my heart.

I know that this is difficult to write because no one’s going to give you any real advice because your friends and family don’t know you read it. You would think of your family as not having the personality that you really want to have. All it takes is one simple statement.

Cameron says that he loved his family very much and wanted to do a book and he loves his friends all the same. But he also loves the feeling that he finds when reading books and reading novels.

I love reading and I am very sensitive about what I am reading about.

It is true that I am a hard worker, not a kid. But I want there to be an easy way home. That it was never this easy as it is for me.

There are things I have done, people say, that make me feel bad, but I feel safe just because I love them.

I am comfortable, I feel right about my emotions, and I am comfortable about people and people are saying whatever they want to say.

I don’t like to read fiction.

I love to listen to music and listen to talk to people.

I do not like being judged by my peers.

One of my favorite things about me is when I know it’s not in the book I like most about myself. That is the other thing I enjoy when it comes to getting to know another person…

The reader is the only person who can truly tell if a book is enjoyable. Many different people may have different opinions but The Scarlet Letter is generally accepted as a book that many students enjoy and therefore merits a place in an English 10 Honors class. Although this argument may be weak because obviously there are students who will hate the book, the majority of students have had positive feedback about the book. There are many things that a student can take out of the novel. On the surface, it is a captivating story about an adulterous woman and her conflicts with society. Hawthorne does an excellent job of making his main character, Hester Prynne, very likeable. Many high schools girls can relate to her. The other characters in the book are also very interesting and the story is exciting and suspenseful. Under the surface, there are many themes to which an active reader will pick up on and most likely enjoy discussing and thinking about. Hawthorne offers up criticism of organized religion and shows nature in a very positive light. These subtle themes make the novel interesting to discuss in a classroom. A third thing that a student would probably enjoy about the book is that it is very well written. Hawthorne does amazing things with the motifs and pictures he describes and it is interesting for students to discuss them with their classmates and teacher. The Scarlet Letter should be read in an English 10 Honors class because it is a very entertaining read.

Another reason that The Scarlet Letter should be read in an English 10 Honors class is that it has many themes that are relevant to the life of a high school student. One of the main questions the novel asks is “who determines what sin is?” High school students struggle with the very same question in their own personal lives. Reading The Scarlet Letter may show them a new way of looking at things and possibly help them with their issues. Another main theme of the book is hypocrisy in religion. This issue can still be seen today and high school students will be able to better understand this problem with the help of this novel. English teachers who teach a 10 Honors should teach this novel because
