David Tucker CWV-101Numa Gomez08/13/2015Benchmark: Christian Worldview         The Christian Worldview, a personal, and relational God who is the creator and sustainer of all that exists; and believe in absolute truth and morality, and an afterlife. As a Christian Believer, I was given the opportunity to experience life through my own eyes, able to find the courage to believe what I thought was the way my world was created. Knowing your beliefs is such an aspiring, and valuable aspect in one’s life, but knowing your worldview and all about it, is holding true to the Christian Worldview. Throughout the course of the paper, I will identify the core information, analyze and give my own opinion of the Christian Worldview.         “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).  So who is God, in the eyes of a Christian, who upholds the values of the Christian Worldview? God is the creator of heaven and earth, the powerful almighty who created man from his own image. God created man in the likelihood that they would inquire the same traits as he, for he is loving, understanding, strong, beautiful, powerful and forgiving. These traits are truthfully what define God, allowing Christians to understand what God is like.         Along with God being creator of everything that is and that isn’t, came along with our human nature. Human nature can be defined as what makes us human, the distinctive difference between us and other creation, is the ability to reason. With this ability that God gave us, came Human Purpose, “to be fruitful and multiply (1:28), to take dominion over the earth (1:28), to tend and care for the garden (2:15), to name the animals (2:19), and to be faithful to each other (2:24)” (CWV-101, Lecture 3). When we look through the bible, we hear of the human downfall, which is when our first parents Adam and Eve were deceitful to our god. Adam and Eve let sin corrupt their life, and disobeyed the purpose that god had asked them to fulfill, which resulted in the start of the fall of human nature. Although the fall of human nature is still visible in the world today, we must realize the god is good, good all the time, and is always welcoming with both hands open.         “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God All things were made through him In him was life… And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:1, 3, 4, 14, ESV). We all have the view that Jesus is the son of god, but in ultimate reality we have to think of the divine Trinity. The Trinity which displays God in three ways but being one man, the father, the son and the Holy Spirit. It can be clear that Jesus would be consider to be the son which arouses from the trinity, where we know he is god just in human form.  Matthew 20:28, specifically states that “the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” This is specifically what Jesus did, he served his brothers and sisters, and he led them in the reassurance of redemption to God. He was there to atone for the sins of the world, to awaken people from sin, and in hopes abolish it as well.  Isaiah 53 states “He was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities … 6and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all … 8stricken for the transgression of my people … 10when his soul makes an offering for sin … 11and he shall bear their iniquities … 12yet he bore the sin of many” (CWV-101, lecture 4). In this statement we can see why Jesus’ work and identity is vitally important to the Christian Worldview. We know that through the life of Jesus, we were given the chance of redemption, allowing God into our life, and the chance to retain from sin, and the importance of our Christian life.
“The good news of the gospel may be summarized with the three R’s: Rescue, Redemption, and Renewal” (CWV-101, Lecture 5). The solution of human problems really confide in the three R’s. When we realize that god rescued us by sending his only son to abolish the sin in life, we can aim for redemption. Redemption can only happen when we accept Christ as our savior and confess all of our sin’s to god. This allows us to build a sustainable, and trusting relationship with God which reveals our renewal. Renewal is when we have aloud god into our hearts to transform us into a new creation so that we may have eternal life. By the justification of God, the grace and faith of god, our sins are not abolished but reconciled, our salvation to the lord can begin, because we have been renewed where the lord will help us fight temptation. “The bottom line is that Christianity is really much more about what God has done rather than what we do; more about what God gives than what we earn; and more a relationship than a religion. Christianity is about knowing and loving God while enjoying amazing fellowship in His eternal family” (CWV-101, Lecture5).  By having this thought, we as Christians know that this is how our transformation can happen.         Transformation, something that if hasn’t happened already to you, you should be looking to do. Believing and following the Christian Worldview, will greatly improve one’s life. Having Christian belief has benefits or strengths if you will, that are greatly shown throughout the readings of the bible.  If we look at Job 22:21-23, we can read “Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you. . . . If you return to the Almighty, you will be restored.” This statement alone shows that human kind will be at great benefit because through the lord, all is safe. Through the lord we have all we need, he provides us with the courage and wisdom, he is there when we are tempted to sin, he creates our path in life so that we may met again in our eternal life. Through the Christian Worldview, things can become confusing, leaving you to wonder, what the purpose is.
