Tingwei Chen        Professor William English 1A3/6/16My Reading journeyI like reading since I was a little kid. When I know how to read, I like reading all kinds of materials. Reading can fill with my knowledge. I can learn a lot of things through reading books, newspapers and magazines. Reading books has been very big and important thing in my life. I still remember my mom read the fairy tale stories to me. Reading can teach me how to be a good person. My mother was the first person who read the book to me. I remember she read about a lot of fairy tale stories before I was slept. I remember the book called the children’s fairy tale stories, this book contains a lot of small fairy tale stories. I remember one story my mother read to me. It called the farmer and the snake. This story was talked about the farmer how to protect the snake. My mother taught me how to be a kind person. I like reading a lot when my mother starting reading to me. My mother always read a lot of meaningful stories to taught me. During the time she read to me, my favorite book was called the Aesop’s Fables”. When my mother read to me, I think these stories are very interesting and significant to me. This book included a lot of stories from ancient Greek, India and Christian. The book used animals’ behavior to metaphor people. I learned how to bear myself and communicate with each other.
When I was seven, I started reading by myself. My mother bought the first book to me was called Hans Christian Andersen’s Fairy tale. I really excited when I held this book. I started to read when I on my way home. My mother told I read this book over ten times. I like these fairy tale stories because I can feel the author’s imagination. The book brought me these scenes one by one. I like the one story called the little match girl. The story was talked about the girl she sold the little match because she didn’t have the money to eat. She tried to raised money to make her life better. She wanted to buy the medicine to make her mother life better. Right now, I still like reading book. However, reading is not very important thing in my life. I didn’t read the books very often because I can read from the internet. The technology effects my life more important than reading books. When I grew up, I have a lot of things to do. So reading books became the less important during my spare time. on the other hand, I can’t get the time and environment to let me enjoy my book. The last book I was read was called Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows. I am the harry potter’s book. I read the whole seven visions. I think the plot was very attractive to everyone include me. I think the books are better than the films. The author was J.K.Rowling . I think she really know how to catch the readers’ heart. She made the book very interesting and catchy. I think the book style and plot are very important for a book. Also, my favorite author expects J.K Rowling, was Agatha Christie. For me, I really like reading inference and detective friction because of her. I like her writing about the crimes and how to describe the character’s mentality. She knows how to arrange the plot to make stories more lively and let readers more enjoyable to read them.
