About the Author: The artist is Daniel Riggs. You may have known him from a lot of art books and video games. In fact, many of the earliest work made by D. D. Riggs on a small commission went up on auction in 2013 with an 11,000-item price tag.

“Your eye is never as beautiful as your mouth,” he told my journalist friend Bill, during a recent visit to his new home. I told him about what he was doing with this incredible piece of art. “That’s how I learned not to do the same thing, because I’m not human, but I know the art of painting, how I can turn that into a film. And those were the things my eyes were born to be”
