Project #1 – VoIP
Project Description – This is the implementation of the VoIP network and phones being installed at Mankato IT Department.
Estimated Time to Complete- Six Months
Project Estimated Cost –
Projected Benefits – Will provide better phone services and capabilities by using VoIP rather than just a regular phone line. The calls will be more secure and will have less connectivity issues when connecting to people all over.
Project Risks – The project could fail if things do not run smoothly or we run into trouble with who needs to be able to connect to the internal network at Mankato’s IT Department. The company that we buy the VoIP from may want too much direct access onto our network, which would actually put our network at risk of information being leaked with unknown access.
Project #2 – Centralized Storage
Project Description – This is the implementation of a centralized storage system for backing up the company’s data.
Estimated Time to Complete – Six Months to One Year
Project Estimated Cost –
Projected Benefits – Mankato IT Department will benefit from having centralized storage and being able to access their data at a central point rather than having to backup their data somewhere else and have to worry about how they will be able to get to that data that has been backed up.
Project Risks- Falling behind on getting this done can lead to problems with storing data and where things need to be stored if the company falls behind on deciding on what type of storage to go with.
