Many people would ask these two questions. Why do Athletes use Steroids, and Why do Steroids shrink testicles.
Why do Athletes use Steroids?
In sports field, people experience a vigorous competition for winning a match. The athletes get used to the idea of always winning. But due to some reasons like mental pressures for that day or age factor or laziness or insufficient body muscles, weak musculature, obesity and so on ,they will not be able to deliver their performance on par with the best. In such situations, they feel it necessary to indulge into oppressive activities. People expect a lot from these athletes every time they perform. The people look forward so much that they cannot accept any sort of inability or any sort of mistake from the athletes side. These reasons also lead the athletes to opt for steroids. The steroids will enable the athlete to give on-the-spot excellent performance. The steroids will enhance the muscle power of the athletes temporarily for that day and make them strong physically and mentally to face the game.
It is not correct for athletes to play with artificial strength and the results of such games will not determine the real capability and talent of the player. Hence , professional sports organizations banned certain steroids to be used by athletes. The recently banned one is growth hormone. Some of the other reasons why the athletes use steroids are to decrease their weight, recover fast from training sessions, to relax and come out of stress, and to lift up their confidence levels.
The anabolic steroids are taken by athletes as they allow them to improve muscle strength. The anabolic steroids also allow them to practice continuously without any exhaustion for long time. The human growth hormone usage will allow athletes to enhance lean muscle mass and reduce truncal fat deposits. The growth hormone also improves their moods and boosts up energy levels. The athletes also use steroids like erythropoietin in order to increase oxygen supply to the tissues. This erythropoietin is a very dangerous drug that can damage the heart. These are some of the reasons why athletes take steroids.
