Communication and Ethical Issues Summary
The police officers in all three incidents in this writer’s opinion overstepped their boundaries and should have been held accountable for their actions.

In the first video, the raid of a suspected meth house in Utah. This writer did not feel according to the video that the officers did not adequately identify themselves after entering the home, this writer felt that they were not loud enough or made it clear enough that they were police officers. When they determined that the gentleman had a knife in his possession, this writer did not feel as though the officers gave the man a distinct order to drop the knife before they opened fire on the man. This writer feels as if the police officers entered the house without a real plan of action and if their commander in charge had given them a more distinctive plan of action, the outcome would have been different.

In the second video, these officers’ superiors must stress with him and other officers that the need for them to pay closer attention to details in a given situation. According to what you can hear and comprehend from the audio portion of the recording, this writer feels that the officer did not give the homeless man any time to do anything with the knife or otherwise before he opened fire and shot the man.

In the third video we have a group of officers that have entered a home and they start talking amongst themselves in essence about stealing some of the instruments and recording equipment that the owner of the house has there. This type of behavior leads this writer to believe that these officers have probably done this type of thing in the past and
