ABSTRACT
In this project, the performance of the centrifugal fan with same outlet diameter having different number of impeller blades is thoroughly evaluated. The impeller outlet diameter, the blade angle and the blade numbers are the most critical parameters which affect the performance of the centrifugal fans. The model fan has a design rotation speed of 1000 rpm and impeller with 11,12,13,14 and 15 numbers of blades has been considered. The characteristics of the centrifugal fan with different number of blades are simulated and predicted on the ANSYS Fluent software. For each impeller, the Static Pressure Rise Coefficient and the Total Pressure Loss Coefficient is calculated. It is seen that the performance of the centrifugal fan increases with the increase in the number of impeller blades.
