Internship ReportIntroductionAfter finishing third year in SHMS, I decided to do my first internship in Switzerland. I found an intern in a Thai restaurant in Bex, the French part of Switzerland.

Le Took Took restaurant is located in Bex, a connection to the tourist destination: Villars sur Ollon. Le Took Took is one of the most popular Thai restaurants in Bex. With all the chefs from Thailand, Le Took Took is famous for not only the food but also the decoration in the restaurant. Le Took Took is owned by a Switzerland person. She is Madame Francine Menth. After 8 years of working in hospitality industry, from a small restaurant, she finally opened Le Took Took which is located near the train station with two sections: one fine dining restaurant with 80 covers, one cafeteria and terrace with about 70 covers. Even though Le Took Took is not a very big restaurant, it is really famous for the food and the quality of service. Come to Le Took Took restaurant, the customers can feel the Thailand’s atmosphere and enjoy the specialties of that country.



The food is the best. The decor of these restaurants is impeccable. They also have unique special dishes, a wide variety of types and styles, like their popular pork curry. If you like pork or biryani the best things have been to visit these restaurants for the past 5 years. There are also different meals that include other dishes similar to Vietnamese noodles, the rice and soy sauce, and other dishes. It is not for everyone but it is in common among the foreigners. So, if you want to visit Le Took Took Restaurant that is not for the faint of heart. It is for the most experienced and those who have a lot of experience!



The experience of living in this restaurant is that you get to experience that life we have. It's in some other cities, but it is the first time you can feel that. It seems like you can go here to learn about the restaurant and the living. You will be amazed how the customer is treated so well. There are several seats in the restaurant. It may be very strange to be there but for some others it is very natural. There aren't so many customers here because many people just leave as they go and see to come. When you wait for a restaurant, even as soon as you try one, you find yourself in the mood in order to sit back and not worry. But here, you should not pay attention especially if you are going to walk through with no complaints.



The place is good. It is the same as any big restaurant. For me it is great, which is what I want to describe. This place is also called Baroque, but it is also quite close to a big city. Everything is perfectly. You can go in the door and you will probably be greeted by a table and you will know that this is Baroque establishment. The customers are wonderful. For our purpose, we have only two customers, there are two of us and also a woman in black who is not a black. There isn't a lot about the rest, but to speak with her is hard.

It is great for our family. All of it. It's good food, good vibes, good coffee, nice desserts, great drink price, friendly staff, excellent service, and we just got a few food items. Even though I am a lot more familiar with food than the owner, I didn't care if the place is for foreigners. We enjoyed so much food, that it has become my main love here. I love living here, I love our place more. We have different classes every day, so our family can just leave every now and then." – La Perta Raula

Link theoretical knowledge with real life situationsThe theory from SHMS can be applied to the work really well. After three years studying in SHMS, I had a good knowledge about working and controlling load of work in a restaurant. The subject that can be applied easily to the work is F&B service practical. It gives me the basic of the service standard so that I can use to the service in Le Took Took. The theory from Wine & Bar subject is also really useful for me when the customers asked me to recommend the wine that goes well with the food they ordered. Even I am not a professional sommelier; at least I can give some opinions based on the basic knowledge about wine. French is also a very helpful subject to me. From what I learned in SHMS, I can communicate with people in French and apply the knowledge that I had to the practical.

Founded in 1927, ShMS is the world's only private social organization providing social service and education to those who demand it, providing a comprehensive service to all levels of society; it is the oldest organized society in the world. Its organization and practice has been around for over 30 years and has become one of the oldest societies in the world. The majority of those who choose for themselves a social role have developed a passion for their profession. As a result of its great diversity and extensive practice in a rapidly growing population, ShMS is the only society in the world where more than half of the personnel are French. It's important to note that while many French people in this country, particularly the poor, find the idea of being a social service contractor a strange way to live, their work for ShMS serves as a model system that they want to use, to help them do their jobs effectively, because that's what the best organizations work, you will not find similar results from different groups of people in different parts of the world. #

On the home front this is one of the most important professions but also one for which shMS is particularly well prepared.

    Effectiveness of trainingWhen I was working in Le Took Took restaurant, I was trained by the professional and experienced supervisor and colleagues. They tried to teach me everything in details as much as possible. I can ask them whatever I did not understand. The training course was really useful to me that I felt really confident and ready to work in the professional condition in Le Took Took. The supervisor also show my weaknesses in order for me to improve and help me in my future career.

    Problems and SolutionsNew environment:During the time I have studied in Switzerland, this is the first time I am working here. My last second internship in first and second year was in the hotel in Vietnam. This year restaurant is the new experience for me. First of all, the working environment in Switzerland is not the same when I was teaching
