A change in Latin Americas population can be for the better or for the worse,
depending on the factors of the increase. For example, an increase in Latin Americas
population can cause a negative affect on its ecosystem. With more people you need
more houses, which takes up more space, causing more land to be cleared, and this
destroys different parts of the ecosystem. Another negative affect is access to food and
clean water. When more people are faced with unsanitary sources of food or water,
disease and famine begin to arise, and if left uncontrolled can take the lives of many.
Another negative effect of population growth is waste control. When there are relatively
fewer people, controlling waste is much simpler. However, as populations grows, the
waste increases severely, and finding a spot for this waste, or treating it in a way that
does not poison the environment, can be very difficult. On the other hand, some positive
affects of a population growth in Latin America are with more people comes more ideas
and creativity on how to treat the negative affects theyre experiencing. Also, with a
larger population means more citizens contributing to Latin Americas economy. As you
can see a big change, just as this, will affect Latin America, however the advantages and
disadvantages seem to cancel each other out to control the region.
