Language is the system we use to communicate our thoughts and ideas to others. The left hemisphere of the brain controls speech and language abilities for most people. Language is a code “whereby ideas about the world are express through a conventional system of arbitrary signals for communication” (Lahey, 1988). The interrelationships of what we hear, speak, read and write become our format for sharing information. Language is the principal means used by human beings to communicate with one another. Language is primarily spoken, although it can be transferred to other media, such as writing. If the spoken means of communication is unavailable, as may be the case among the deaf, visual means such as sign language can be used (Bernard,2009). Allen and Hart (1984) describe that language is a social skill for interacting with others, for expressing needs and ideas, and for getting help, opinions and the cooperation of others. It serves as a cognitive skill for understanding, inquiring and telling about oneself and ones world. What if we are not capable or we are deprived of Hearing? Speaking? And Writing? How can we share information and express ourselves?

Language impairment includes problems in the production and/or comprehension of language. For example, a child with a difficulty at the grammatical level may find it confusing to distinguish between the present and past tense. This would lead to problems not only in producing appropriate sentences, but also in understanding both oral and written language.

There are different approaches that can be use in handling and in teaching learners with language impairment. However, there is a need for us to choose the appropriate ones. In using those approaches we need the effort and patience and even the creativity of the teachers in delivering his/her lessons. We can develop different approaches in handling such cases but we should still remember and consider the learner himself. It should be appropriate for in order to satisfy and cater ones needs.
