John F Kennedy is one of the greatest presidents ever in American history. In this book it talks about how
he developed his leadership skills. John shows remarkable bravery in saving his crew. He shows stamina in the face of war and courage in leading his men. When his boat got rammed, most people would just give up, but he thought only how to survive. He shows skill in keeping everyone safe. His and his crews return to the states have labeled John F. Kennedy a true hero.

The South Pacific in the World War 11 era was a hot, tropical place to be stationed. It was hard to get supplies to and it was hard to do repairs on the boats there. There were lots of Japenese military around. The U.S. military would go on midnight patrols to find the enemy. The enemy would transport supplies in the darkest of the night. There were lots of bombing from the enemy at night. This left many of our military in great peril. If it werent for allied watchmen on these islands shores, our military may not have had such control of these waters. I enjoyed this factual book. It describes triumph over hardship. These men face unbelievable odds stacked against them. Their human nature overcomes any and all obstacles. They come together as friends and a working unit. This shows human bonding and what the strength in numbers can accomplish.
