My mum, my brother and I decided to take my great-grandparents there for a big Sunday lunch to catch up with each other. I had been to that restaurant several times before and thought my great grandparents would love it.

As we were waiting for our table, I got a chance to study the dД©cor of the place. The restaurant had a simple yet elegant design. The restaurant was divided into two areas: an inside section and an outside section which overlooks the mall. There were no lamps of any kind in the outside area because the sunlight from the big glass windows of Festival Walk shone and lit up the whole floor. The small bar and the large wine collection in glass cabinets near the entrance give Red Lily a casual fusion feel.

After a short while, a polite waitress led us to our table. I had especially requested to be seated near the windows. Three small tables were put together to fit us all. I sank into the soft plush olive green chairs and took out my clipboard. From where I was sitting, I had a clear view of the entire restaurant. Uniformed waiters were busy hopping from table to table, taking orders from hungry costumers. They all seem pleasant and helpful. One waitress noticed my clipboard and gave me a friendly smile.

Only one menu and a dim sum-ordering form have been given to our table of five. The menu was written clearly in Chinese, Japanese and also English. There were professionally photographed pictures of the most popular food for references. A wide range of rice, noodles, dim sum, appetizer, seafood, poultry, drinks and wine were offered. For appetizer, my great grandparents had chosen Braised Wheat Bran with Mushroom, Bamboo Shoot & Pea ($42). I chose my usual favourite combination Stewed Noodle with Chicken ($38) and Soya bean Juice ($12). My brother picked another favourite of mine, Fried Rice Pudding with Shredded Pork & Cabbage ($52) and my mum decided to try the Noodle in Soup with Jumbo Pork Chop ($48). We decided that was enough just for now. While we were waiting for our orders to come, we quietly sipped our hot Chinese herbal tea. It was boiling hot and burned my tongue with its natural bitter taste, forcing my eyes to water. While the grown-ups chatted about life, I scanned the restaurant and head counted only five waiters. No wonder they looked so busy.

The Braised Wheat Bran came first after around five minutes waiting time. The dish was brown, with a hint of black of the mushrooms. The wheat bran was warm and had a soft sponge-like texture. The sweetness of the sauce quickly washed away the pungent bitter taste of the tea. It was palatable, but Ive tasted better. My milky white Soya Bean Juice came next, bringing a cold and bland taste to my tongue, gradually leading to a sweet, sticky aftertaste. After another five minutes or so, our main courses arrived. As the waiter approached our table with huge white bowls, I start to wonder if Id be able to finish the contents of my bowl. Because of the large quantity, I had to wait for the meal to cool down a bit before I could indulge in it. For the

Ive only drank a small bowl of hot milk or water, and the amount of milk/water I had consumed and made was lessened by the lack of heat from the simmering, yet very tender, broth. I thought that I would definitely get more than it really was, but the milk/water wasn’t a huge deal now that I am in the thick of it. On another note I had never tasted the broth before, and this was different. I had never tried the broth that was so spicy with the sesame seeds on the noodles, but the broth was better for my tastes. I will certainly recommend this to our friends!

The Saffron is one of the more healthy breakfast dishes! Not only do you get more vegetables and fruit than your average bread, but you can even add a little butter in the dish that is super filling and delicious. It also has a lot of protein and other vitamins, so you can have a great breakfast that you may be able to eat with your family over a weekend.

This is one of my favorite things going…I really like its creamy and tangy texture with that nice, refreshing taste. My family doesn’t like the taste of sesame seeds on the noodles, but this broth and the sesame seeds gave my children the pleasure of eating it with their friends and family for the longest time, even as soon as their child went to bed. I love having a choice between these homemade soup dishes that can be eaten on the weekends, or when you just want lots of noodles to enjoy with people (who doesn’t?), this is one way to enjoy a good breakfast in a healthier way. I also like the way the noodle dishes are made, with some sauce added to help your noodles have more of the protein and some egg and veggies. It’s an option for kids to take the day off to enjoy…and not the most healthful soup on Earth! If you are going to use this for any emergency, give it a try. It doesn’t have to be fancy, just nice.

WOW! This place is like 3 years old and 2 in the morning. I will definitely return! The staff are amazing! The place is the best breakfast you can get anywhere. I was also very hungry for food and my boyfriend was going to come visit me at the next place. It was delicious and I was very happy with how long it took me to come to the restaurant. I will definitely come back here for more homemade soup, they do a variety dishes and other times there is extra chicken in every plate.

This place is so pretty and I wanted to get out of the city and grab some drinks, so I found out I did get a good deal. After the wait outside to grab ice, I found out that it’s a Saturday so the restaurant staff were all about opening
