Research Several Sources
Research several sources. Try to find sources that have different points of view or different kinds of information. Present the details and arrive at your own conclusions that are supported by the research. Cite your sources.

Choose one:
1. Number 9, page 469 – 470 (comparing two companies) The report need not be formal and not be more than three pages.
2. From number 12 on page 470, choose one from the choices “a” through “g” listed. For “e” you can substitute Walmart for Starbucks, if you choose. If you do choose that, explain the effect of Walmart on midsize and small stores that would carry the same type of merchandise.

3. Research a notable business leader (current or past).  Examine his or her management style.  Reach conclusions about what made that person successful, what lessons can be learned for your own management style, etc.  Relate the business leaders ideas to your field. Examples of business leaders: Bill Gates, Jack Welch, Henry Ford, Steve Jobs, Martha Stewart, Warren Buffet, Oprah Winfrey, Frederick W. Taylor, Henry Gantt, Kaoru Ishakawa, W. Edwards Deming, Joseph M. Juran.

4. Career choice – Explore a career or profession in detail to help students make informed choices — Choose a specific job function or profession rather than a general area. (For example; internal auditor; not accounting or finance; pharmaceutical sales, not marketing)

Answer questions, such as — What do you need to know to determine if this is the right career choice for you? Make sure you think all aspects. Besides the work responsibilities and pay, what else do you need to know? (For example, you might want to know typical working hours, amount of interpersonal interaction involved, travel, possibility for outsourcing, etc.)

5. Graduate school – Examine several (at least three) graduate degrees
