While the American people voted in 1789 in favor of Confederation, George Washington made many other decisions. On a number of occasions he wanted to bring about a Great Society which was a combination of nationalism and the idea that people want to own, work for , work for free, and share in the wealth and power of the United States. These ideas were considered to be radical ideas and there were many of them in common. These ideas would be found at such meetings, lectures and conference sessions of the American People as well as at meetings taken at Washington. During the Civil War Congress took a call to take up and repeal many of the ideas put forward by Washington and in those days many were proposed. There were no amendments to it but the Constitution had changed considerably and many amendments were made. The President took up the issue of the Federalists and the two houses concluded the debate. After that, no one from the other houses wrote a question. No one but Congress was supposed to comment on the issue of ratification. The discussion began with the question of Federalism. The question was: “what shall we do to protect a People within the United States or to secure a People in another Country?” The first amendment in the Constitution was introduced in 1867, and there was little public outcry and it got more votes than any other amendment in the Constitutional Convention of 1787.
