General Zaroff
In the story The Most Dangerous Game a character named General Zaroff has a passion for hunting. He has been hunting since he was born. He has hunted every animal known to man, but, then he gets tried of hunting the same animal over and over. So he discovers a new animal human flesh. General Zaroff is person of bad character because he is cruel, cowardly, and untrustworthy.

G. Zaroff is a cruel person because instead of hunting animals, he hunts humans and does not care for the value of life. He displays this quality when he tells Rainsford “I refuse to believe that so modern and civilized a young man as you seem to be harbors romantic ideas about value of human life. In this quote he shows his cruelness because he doesnt care about humans but himself. He also doesnt care for the value of human life.

G. Zaroff is also a coward because he sends his assistant Ivan and his hounds to do his dirty deeds. He displays this quality when he tells Rainsford “Occasionally I strike a tartar. One almost did win. I eventually had to use the dogs.” This shows that he is a coward because he cant finish off the job himself or needs Ivan to do the dirty work.

G. Zaroff is untrustworthy because in the end after Rainfords has beaten him he still has to fight him. He shows this when Rainsford meets him in the bedroom the General says “I see, Splendid! One of us is to furnish a repast for the hounds. The other will sleep in a very excellent bed. On guard, Rainsford..” This means that he didnt keep his promise of letting him go after three days and still made him fight. The General is also a soar loser because after all Rainsford did he had to fight.

General Zaroff is a person of bad character because he is cruel, cowardly, and untrustworthy. He shows these qualities by the way his attitude is and how he makes Rainsford fight after
