People say “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. Beauty for young girls in the new millennium is now in the eyes of the camera. Every time he or she turns on the television or opens a magazine, he or she sees people who are beautiful, thin, and have the fame everyone wants. “The degree of thinness exhibited by models chosen to promote products is both unachievable and biologically inappropriate”.(British medical Association report). Therefore it can be dangerous for young people to attempt to have the appearance that models and actresses have.

Anorexia is a very typically case when young men and women see what fame looks like.” Initially the characteristics that are most described, are the stroking weight loss and emaciation resulting from failure to eat”. (“Anorexia & Bulimia” 1). Some of the effects of Anorexia are hair loss, feeling cold, poor circulation, insomnia, low self-esteem and self-hatred. Anorexia can often start when men or women go on diets. He or she do not mind more hunger, and seem to be able to discipline themselves in ways that are not common. Most people who go on diets, have difficulty not eating as much and dont enjoy the process at all like people with anorexia . Even when he or she has accomplished their desired weight, the developing anorexic continues to loose weight and diet. Dieting is not the only way anorexia begins. Some people cut down on fatty foods, and then they begin to cut down on foods that have the nutrition that we need in every day life. Anorexia is not the only strategy men and women use to look like models and actresses. Bulimia is another common way to be thin.
