Rate of Reaction
My aim for this experiment is to find the rate of reaction of the following chemicals shown below in the equation furthermore I will use different concentrations of Hydrochloric acid. I will time the rates and record them, plotting them onto a graph showing the line of best fit.

Equation
Sodium Thiosulphate + Hydrochloric acid -> sodium chloride + sulphur + sulphur dioxide + water
Shown above is the equation for Sodium Thiosulphate + Hydrochloric acid this also contains the balanced symbol equation.

Practical Procedure and Method
The above shows a diagram in order of sequence, to illustrate my approach and equipment I will use to find the rate of reaction using different molar concentrations of Hydrochloric acid. During my preliminary I will use 3 concentrations of Hydrochloric acid solutions measured in molar (m). The concentrations I will use are 1 m, 1.5 m and 2 m. This is to test my method on how practical it is, and if it is easier to complete it using a different method when undertaking my main experiment.

Firstly I will make the 1 molar solutions form a large batch of 2 molar, then I will measure 7.5cm3 of distilled water and 7.5cm3 Hydrochloric acid of 2 m, to make a 1 molar solution of Hydrochloric acid making a 15cm3 solution which is enough for three repeats. I will put this into a beaker making sure it was well mixed to make it a fair test. Then I measured 20 cm3 of Sodium Thiosulphate using a separate measuring cylinder to the Hydrochloric acid and distilled water to make it a fair test so I not contaminating each measuring cylinder. Then I will use a piece of paper with a cross marked on using marker pen so it is clear attaching it with a rubber band to the boiling tube. I carefully poured the 20 cm3 of Sodium Thiosulphate into a boiling tube and prepared the stop watch. Then I poured 5 cm3 of the 1 molar Hydrochloric acid
