Statement of PurposeCurrently, I am enrolled in a Master of science in Mechanical Engineering program at Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania. I have a bachelors degree in Architecture form a reputable Nigerian University. I have gained considerable knowledge in the classroom, through internships with professional construction companies and also from personal experiences during my undergraduate career.

I decided to opt for Civil Engineering with specialty in Structural Engineering because I believe that when coupled with my knowledge in the field of Architectural designs, it directly provides a platform for me to approach and solve the numerous design and construction challenges in my community. It also provides me with the opportunity to impact positively in my community and the rest of the world at large. I am also interested in researching on Reinforced concrete structures and fiber reinforced composite in structural applications.

During my college days, as part of my mandatory Industrial Training Experience, I worked as an intern for the architectural firm Little Arcons Turnkey Projects (LATP), located in Nigerias federal capital territory, Abuja. I was exposed to lots of Architectural designs as an intern with LATP. We did a lot of residential and commercial/public building designs, including the Olusegun Obasanjo Space Center in Nigeria. I worked closely with professional architects and civil engineers as well during my internship at LATP. I also worked with them for a few months after my bachelors degree program. For my mandatory Youth Service program I worked with Ziparker Nigeria Limited (ZPNL). A civil engineering company located in Bayelsa State a state in the Niger delta region of Nigeria. I worked in a six man team as a project supervisor and we handled the construction of buildings and the clearing of some water canals in the region. This provided me with the opportunity
