African American/ Black
Africans were brought over to the United States during the Slave Trade. African Amercians brought about big changes in the United States for equal rights and civil liberties without this movement, women would not have brought about equal rights in the work place (Schaefer, Richard T) .

According to the 2010 Census, people defined themselves only as Black or African American, are about 38.9 million African Americans living in the United States at this time. Others who defined themselves as Black, African American combined with another race reported about 3.1 million people. Thus there about 42 million Black or African Americans living in the United States in 2010 (Census Buereau Homepage, 2010).

Most African Americans are of Christian faith and background yet some still carry on the traditions of their tribes for which they came from (Schaefer, Richard T). Some of these traditions include animal sacrifices to traditional foods. Some of the foods from the Yoruba tribe include Efo Riro and Pounded Yams, which is generally served on special occassions.

I admire the family bond they have with each other and the commitment to that family bond (Schaefer, Richard T). The religious influence in their live is carried throughout generations (Schaefer, Richard T). The strengths and strides to overcome adversity in school, healthcare and in the workplace is greatly to be admired.

Asian
Some Asians came over during the colonies as laborors and traders, and some came over in the nineteen century as refugees (Schaefer, Richard T). They taught the westerners martial arts, and brought fireworks, and tea here to the United States. They also showed us alternative medicines.

According to the 2010 Census, people defined themselves only as Asian, there are about 1.6 Million living in the United States. This data may include Japaneanees, Chinees, and other Asian decents (Census Buereau Homepage, 2010).

Asians take pride in their traditions and customs, they share these traditions and customs with the younger generations. One of their customs that most Asians share is respect for their elders and the burial of their deceased.
