“Richard! Take your bath when youre done clean the tub and make water for your sister”.
“Ok ma”! He answered
By a quarter to ten we were bathed, in bed and asleep. At 6:30 am I awake to the sound of my mothers voice:
“Star, get up baby!”
“Ok” I yelled just to fall back asleep for about five minutes then I awake to my mother shaking me and saying:
“Come on baby you gotta get up.”
“Wash your face, brush your teeth and get dressed please.”
I start to stretch I open my eyes the sunlight and the scent of breakfast awakes me. So I get out of bed and do as I was told. after I ate breakfast the time I had been waiting for was finally here, it was time to go to school. My mom and I entered the school I loved it right away, it was colorful and it had a small waterfall leading to a pond that was built inside the floor with real goldfish inside. I had to go to the main office to find out where I was supposed to be. I walked through the door with the sign above it that read main office. Two women sitting behind a large desk greeted me:
“Good morning”
“Good morning, my name is Starisha White, this is my first day.”
“Oh hi Starisha! Welcome.” the lady said while the other looked at me and smiled.
“So what grade are you in?”
“5th” I answered.
“Ok well just one second I will walk you to your class”
“Thanks!”
I walked a couple feet from the big desk, set in a chair and waited for the women. I was so anxious to meet my new teacher and classmates. I waited about two minutes, then the women stood from behind the desk. “Ok follow me.” I followed her out of the office down a long hallway that was filled with kids heading to their classes. I had the biggest smile on my face as I followed the lady to our destination. Some of the kids looked at me and smiled. Some just looked and some didnt pay any attention at al. the lady lead me to the end of the fifth grade hallway we walked into classroom 104 where a couple of students were already at their desk. In a corner at the front of the room there was my teacher sitting at her desk. I immediately start to feel afraid, of what I dont know. When the teacher noticed the lady and I walk into the class she stood and greeted me with a big smile and hug that I wasnt expecting. I hugged her back, that weird feeling of being scared went away, but I was still feeling a bit shy.
“Hi welcome, Im Mrs. Hudson”
“Hi Mrs. Hudson! Im Starisha”
“Nice name, Starisha”
“Thanks”
“So Starisha, Ive already made a name tag for you, you can sit where you want and in a few weeks everyone will be assigned new seats”
I grabbed my name tag and walked to a desk that sat between a boy with long hair and a desk nobody was sitting in that had a name tag that read Jessica. I took my book bag off and sat in the seat. While I unpacked my book bag the boy next to me looked at me and smiled, I smiled back
“Whats yo name?” he asked
“Star”
“Oh hi, my name is Leatrice”
