I. Part One: What is a worldview? Define what the term “worldview” means.
“Worldview is a response of our heart or inner being; our intellect, emotion and will. Its the total framework we bring to decision making” (Weider & Gutierrez, Consider, 2011)
II.Part Two: Articulate the biblical/Christian Worldview (what is believed) for each of the following 5 questions. Give 2 relevant scripture references for each of the five questions below (do not write out the verses) to support why it is believed. (300 words)
The Question of Origin refers to: How did life begin? And how mankind comes to existence? “God is the first cause, the answer to why there is something rather than nothing.” (Weider & Gutierrez 2011). In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1), the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. (Genesis 2:7).
2. The Question of Identity refers to: “What does it mean to be human?” “Are humans more important than animals?” (Weider & Gutierrez 2011). God created mankind above the animal and man was created, “a little lower than the angels” (Psalm 8:5). Male and female were both created “in the image of God” and were given the responsibility to rule over the animals and to be their caretakers (Genesis 2:15).
3. The Question of Meaning/Purpose refers to: “Why mankind exist?” and “why do I exist?” mankind seeks to answer. (Weider & Gutierrez 2011). Theists believe that the purpose of the mankind is to know God. (Weider & Gutierrez 2011). Traditional Judaism teaches that the man is to love the Lord and serve Him with “all your hearth and all your soul” (Deuteronomy 11:13), in Christianity the purpose of mankind according to (John 17:3) is “that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent “Its about having a personal intimate relationship with God through his son, Jesus Christ. (Weider & Gutierrez 2011).
4. The Question of Morality refers to: “What it means right or wrong? “And “How should I live?” Relativism teaches that true is dependent upon the individual or society and is subject to change. What is right today it might be wrong tomorrow (Weider & Gutierrez 2011). In Judaims, man is in right relationship with God throught good works(Exodus 20:6). People are morally neutral with the capacity to do good or evil.
5. The Question of Destiny refers to: “Is there life after life?”What will happen to me when I die?” “Your worldview can affect how you act on a daily basis and direct the legacy that you leave behind. It can also potentially influence your eternal state” (Weider & Gutierrez 2011). Christians believe in two eternal
