Corina NorthBellevue University January 9th 2016C2P3 Racial and Gender EqualityAbstract:        The purpose of this letter is outline the specific aspects and attributes of an equal society. I will be certain to construct an argument that establishes credibility by founding it upon objective facts and credible sources. In addition, I will also demonstrate learning based upon the assigned course materials. Dear Editor:I’m writing to express my concern on the specific aspects and attributes of an equal society in America. An equal society is something America needs more than ever. It is a petition that all people should be treated equally, free of prejudice or preferences.  My goal in regards to the specifics and attributes to create an equal society in the workplace, is that important jobs should go to the most qualified people. The person most likely to perform and proficiently manage, complete, and be paid for the given task; and not just to any person for subjective or irrelevant reasons. In America, an obvious gap exists when it comes to equality in the workplace. It seems equality, and jobs don’t go hand in hand. One of the many reasons equality in the work place is nonexistent is caused by aspect circumstances such as upbringing, having well-connected relatives or friends, religion, sex, ethnicity,  race, and class. The other reason equality does not exist in the workplace is in regards to personal attributes rather those be voluntary or involuntary; such as disability, age, gender identity, or sexual orientation. Chances for advancement, the opportunity to be employed, the right to education, and equality in the workplace should be open to all Americans whom meet the expectations to perform the task at hand. Regardless of the color of their skin, sex, gender identity, class, and so on. If someone is interested in a position, then they should have an equal opportunity to apply to become a candidate, and fair and equal treatment in being selected for that position.

The action is simple. Remove uncertainty from the selection process and base it on a pre-agreed basis of fairness, with the assessment process being associated to the type of position, and underlining routine with respect to legal means. Equality in the workplace, opposes favoritism, deems the social structure genuine, and is valid in parts of America, community life, and the world in which benefits are earned and received such as employment and education. Individuals should succeed or fail based on their own efforts and not outside circumstances. When that is in place not only will the work equality become present but it will teach our citizens and our youth to own their failures, and their success. Generating less excuses and more ownership.  Equality in society, gives everyone an equal chance to achieve wealth, social respect, and power. It means the rules are the same, and can be applied to society by standardizing that no one has a head start.  This means that, for any social equality issue dealing with wealth, social respect, or power of any sort, the equality of opportunity standard can defend the idea that everyone had that same start. If equality in society were to exist, it would hold individuals accountable for their own personal and professional success. When reviewing the research, facts, arguments, and course related material; In my personal knowledge of the topic I conclude that we as the American people our responsible for ourselves and our actions. If we continue to accept, stand idly, not speak up, or make significant attributes to the change of the current situation of equality in American society then we are responsible for it. The unethical, unequal, and unfair treatment that occurs in the workplace, and our communities is very real, and does exist. With that being said so can equality; It will take maximum effort, whole hearted attempts, high standards, and we the American people to break the cycle. For the sake of our youth, and then sake of our country social equality in America needs to be addressed.
