Davis Guggenheim Case
Davis Guggenheim, the filmmaker of Waiting for Superman, evaluates the various ways in which the American public education system is letting our nations children down, and focuses on the roles that charter schools and education reformers could play, to save the future. He uses personal interviews to create credibility for the viewers of the movie.

Everyday we are exposed to experiencing the American school system first hand our friends drop out, science and math scores are not the strongest , and schools closing due to lack of funding. What we are not exposed to are the names and faces of the children whose entire futures are ruined due to our inability to change the system.

There was once a time where the American public education system served as a model to the entire world. However today other countries are surpassing the United States in every aspect in education. As for the slogan “No Child Left Behind” It no longer hold s the same meaning for we leave them left behind, way behind. We no longer take our education seriously, those who do are missing out on a better future. Bianca, Emily, Anthony, Daisy, and Francisco the five students presented deserve better.

Guggenheim attempts to bring solutions for their education and possible options for improvement in the American public education system. He observes and investigates the further problem in the AMerican education and compares them to other education from other countries. What has become to our beloved education?
