Thousands of drunk drivers are on the street each year
Imaging going out with your friends to party after a long day of work, and everybody is drinking. Everybodys laughing and having a ball of a time, you start to get tipsy and before you know it you enter a place not of this earth, but a relaxed one where judgement is no more a key word. You grab yours keys and decide to go and pick up a friend still in a world where nothing can go wrong. But then a thought of truth and guidance appears, and then everything hurries to darkness.
Alcohol consumption is a very common practice among teens and adults. There are many reasons why people drink, including pressure from peers, temptation, depression and to make people feel better in a social setting. Tradition in certain cultures also contribute to why people consume alcohol.
Driving intoxicated is a serious problem of todays society. Alcohol is considered to be a drug which can make anyone inept to make judgement, and that can lead to them thinking they are alright to drive. A common practice used is a designated driver. This does not always work since the person may still think they can have a few drinks. This person may think they are alright to drive because they did not drink as much, but did drink enough to surpass the legal driving limit.
