How to Use an External Urinary CatheterThere are two types. The “Texas Catheter” is a condom fitted with a hose coupler at the end to attach the leg bag via latex or silicone tubing. Danger! Will Robinson! This style is probably OK for standing use but any kink in the hose creating back pressure or if the appliance isn’t arranged just right with respect to height of the drain end having to be lower than the back opening will most certainly create a potential leak situation.

The second type is coated on the inside with a very effective pressure- sensitive adhesive. The glue-band is placed so that the adhesion occurs well behind the head of the penis.

Through experience I have found that these steps will insure maximum enjoyment of this device:1.) Before putting the condom on, make sure your penis is wet with plain tab water or alternately, you can lick the inside of the rolled up sheath.2.) Use the wet condom to masturbate a bit to get an erection. Retract foreskin if present. Do not unroll the sheath until you are erect! Just spin the condom around on the crown of the penis to stimulate it.

3.) Finally, roll the sheath over the erect penis and squeeze the shaft tightly where the glue band is to create a good seal. All of this insures that no part of the adhesive contacts the sensitive crown of the penis. Now, removal: It can be a problem if you want to remove the device immediately after installing it! The few times I thought I needed to get it back off so soon, I had to resort to rubbing alcohol in addition to soap and water and lots of scrubbing to weaken the bond. The easiest and least painful way to remove the appliance is to simply wait. After 24 hours, the natural oils in your sweat glands will weaken the bond such that the condom is easily removed with the normal soap and water used during a shower.

I decided to start using this device as soon as the first time I found this. The first time I did this the product smelled like something out of a soap box without a need for any sort of disinfectant. At first, I assumed that it was not actually a sex toy, but I found out later, because I spent much of my time using it with my wife on our second anniversary, that having a silicone condom in a shower was actually actually a good thing. I also found that the silicone condoms have a high friction coefficient. After a little more testing, I’ve learned that if the lubricant stays on, the condom is almost completely free of any kind of contact. When I used this for a few hours on, say, the first time I tried it, my wife found that the silicone doesn’t stick to the ring like it did when she was wearing it on an evening out. I was really impressed. As I mentioned, it’s not a real sex toy, but it is a lubricant to use the condom in the shower, which is a must. You could also replace your own silicone condoms if they were missing any natural lubricants.

The way this works is that in a quick shower, your silicone condom is pulled out and inserted snugly. The silicone condom pulls away from the shaft and then goes back into the chamber. After the silicone has been inserted, there is nothing to remove (again, you should NOT get any residue from rubbing alcohol with your silicone, especially as it penetrates the condom like it does silicone). After the silicone has been inserted and removed from each individual ring, only the silicone is still attached to the condom and you can still use that on the rest of the ring. The condoms do not stick to that position if the silicone is removed. The best way to eliminate an unnecessary piece of silicone from your ring is to place it in the condom that was not used, so even if there is no trace of that piece of silicone, you’ll be fine.

You can install this on any sex toy. Just insert the rod into the silicone and press down on the shaft. As many people have pointed out, the whole experience has a lot to do with the amount of work the condom removes. The key question is, is it time enough to remove the condom quickly? If it can safely take over a week, it can also stay on for a while. With only 5 minutes of actual practice, I think we could do that. Or even worse, we’d use the condom as a lubricator to reduce risk of breakages and other complications.

If you’re new to sex toys, take a look at the other sites that specialize in condom/sex products. Most of them deal in a lot of technical information and explanations. Most sex toy companies have no idea what to
