Social Network Issues
Social Networks have been a growing problem in our society. Especially in the United States. Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter are famous social networks. Kids of the recent generation have been less active, and less pro-active. Which could be somewhat responsible for obesity, simply because kids would rather be on there computer or cell phone than outside playing or playing sports.
When i was growing up I never had these things. An ipad or an ipod or a cell phone. I loved playing outside. I used my imagination and played with stickes and rocks and make a movie out of it. The only piece of technology I had was a GameBoy which i only got to use if i had finished all my homework and had a perfect record for that week at school. I was never addicted to my GameBoy as much as kids nowadays are to the technology that is available today.
I do have my own Facebook and Instagram, but I use them responsibly I do not let them control my everyday life. I see kids online all day, disrespecting themselves, and their parents. Cussing, posting extremely revealing pictures of themselves and talking about drugs, alcohol, and partying every weekend.
May I remind you that these kids are only about 12-15 years old. When I was that old I knew nothing of what these kids knew. Which may be because of bad parenting, because of parents wanting to be “cool” and be their kids “best friends”. That is not what these kids need. They have enough friends, they need parents in there life. An authority figure, someone who is willing to discipline them where it is necessary.
Social Networks might not be the problem, the way the children abuse them may be the problem. If they could learn to use them responsibly it wouldnt. And if they couldnt learn to use them properly, they should be taken away until they have come to a more mature, responsible age.
