Emotions
Darwins The Expression of Emotions in Man and Animals, believed that emotions evolved from behaviors that implied what an animal would do next in a given situation, and that when these behaviors were favorable to the animal, and they would evolve in a way that would benefit their unreserved value (www.academic-uprm.edu, 2006). James Lange theory was the first try to explain the physiological bases of emotion and suggested that emotion inducing stimuli are received and improvise by the brain, which triggers automatic changes that finally trigger the experience of emotion (www.academic-uprm.edu, 2006). Cannon-Bard theory suggested an alternative based on the idea that emotional stimuli summon an automatic and an emotional response that were independent of one another (www.academic-uprm.edu, 2006). Limbic system was proposed by Papez in which controlled the expression of emotions by connections with the hypothalamus and mediated the attitude of emotions by connections with the cortex (www.academic-uprm.edu, 2006). These emotion theorist were the main objective in out era. Stimuli is received when emotion is in use. The given situation has to be correct for the stimuli of that particular emotion to improvise in self. Emotion is important in out human nature, but when it is over stimulated that is when we get into the emotional disorders. However, there are many emotional disorders now recognized as truly disabling to humans. in conclusion we have to experience emotion but we also have to take responsibility for our emotions as well.
