Adolf Hitler was born April 20th, 1889 in Austria but moved to Germany and became a German politician that was soon to become the leader of the Nazi Party.

Hitler became obsessed with German nationalism from a young age.[27] He expressed loyalty only to Germany, despising the declining Habsburg Monarchy and its rule over an ethnically diverse empire.[28][29] Hitler and his friends used the German greeting “Heil”, and sang the German anthem “Deutschland Ăśber Alles” instead of the Austrian Imperial anthem.[30]

In world war 1, Adolf Hitler was a decorated veteran. Hitler also joined the German Workers’ Party in 1919 and 2 years later in 1921, he became the leader of the NSDAP, the Nazi party. About 2 years later, he attempted a coup d’etat in Munich.This failed coup resulted in imprisonment of Hitler for 1 year where he only spent 9 months in Prison. During this time, he wrote his famous book Mein Kampf(My Struggle), which combines elements of autobiography with description of Hitlers political ideology.

The Hitler Youth movement created in the 1920s, was a logical extension of Hitlers belief that the future of Nazi Germany was its children. The Hitler Youth was seen as being as important to a child as school was. In the early years of the Nazi government, Hitler had made it clear as to what he expected German children to be like. After Hitler came to power, all other youth movements were abolished and as a result the Hitler Youth grew quickly. In 1936, the figure stood at 4 million members. In 1936, it became all but compulsory to join the Hitler Youth. Youths could avoid doing any active service if they paid their subscription but this became all but impossible after 1939.

After Hitler’s release from prison, he gained popularity very fast by attacking the Treaty of Versailles and blaming the Treaty of Versailles for all of Germany’s problems.

Hitler was appointed the chancellor and dictator of Nazi Germany (as Fuhrer und Reichskanzler) in 1933. He soon went on to blaming Jewish citizens for Germany’s depression. Hitler was a very charismatic speaker and could reach to anyone. He introduced Germanism, antisemitism and anti-communism. He promoted this attributes by his speaking and Nazi propaganda. As chancellor in 1933, he turned the Weimar Republic into the Third Reich which revolved around a single-party dictatorship based on totalitarian and autocratic ideology of Nazism.

On 25 October 1936 an Axis was declared between Italy and Germany. Germany withdrew from the League of Nations and the World Disarmament Conference in October 1933.[183] In March 1935 Hitler announced an expansion of the Wehrmacht to 600,000 members—six times the number permitted by the Versailles Treaty—including development of an Air Force (Luftwaffe) and increasing the size of the Navy (Kriegsmarine).
