How Did the Transatlantic Slave Trade Change West African Society? How did the Transatlantic Slave Trade change West African society? The transatlantic slave trade had a great impact to West African society and people.
What is the transatlantic slave trade? The Transatlantic Slave Trade or triangular slave trade was a route that European traders took to sell slaves from Africa to Americas and Caribbean. The transatlantic slave trade continued for more than 300 years between the 1500’s and 1900’s. The Europeans took between 25-30 million men, women and children from Africa.
The Transatlantic Slave Trade involves three continents Europe, Africa and America. Before the European traders travelled to West Africa, they filled their ships with which they later exchanged for slaves. The goods included weapons, gunpowder, textiles, pearls, cloth, iron, beer, rum and other manufactured goods. After that, the slaves were taken through the Atlantic. On the way to America and the Caribbean Islands, the slaves were treated with great cruelty. The men were separated from women and children by a wooden wall on the ships. They were chained with heavy iron chains binding their legs and arms together. When some of them died or got very sick during the trip, the slave traders would simply throw them overboard where the ones who hadn’t died would almost instantly drown or be killed by sharks. The slaves were fed bland mashed hoarse beans and yams every day.
The Europeans, on the other hand, were so well disposed of that they went every where without even encountering the Europeans and the slaves. They were so far behind that they only knew about the slaves which became their new possessions. Their culture, their customs and their methods of life were completely incompatible with the customs of the Europeans.
When the Europeans went to America, they left their slaves in the colonies without even knowing what was to be done about them. At first, at least one slave, Captain Alexander of Spain, came to American shores from the colonies so he could sell the Europeans, but when those slaves who were in the colonies went down like flies, he became a fugitive and died. The slaves did not talk to anybody about him, and all his people believed that he was dead, but he had a large number who were alive and was living in the U.S. After he was gone there was no longer any one, and by this time he still existed, only an occasional figure, an eccentric figure, or a person very strange. He became a black-looking figure and no one knew what this black-looking figure looked like, except when he looked at the U.S. map.
In 1806 there was a great political crisis and Napoleon Bonaparte ordered the Spanish soldiers to retreat. When Napoleon left Spain and began to attack the American colonies there, a lot of money was put into fighting to maintain the civil war. As many as 500 tons of American currency flowed into Spain, and the slave trade was one of the greatest economic successes of the 19th century.
Mazda: It was also a time of great peace and prosperity among the whites who lived in the New World. The inhabitants of this continent made so many attempts to find new ways of life in America that they got to make an effort to live in freedom and independence from their European colonial masters. These efforts got all the slaves into the new world, especially those who were living in the colonies. This helped to form a large number of Africans as well as a large number of Europeans of South African origin who eventually went through that phase where they joined European communities in the New World and became more and more European. They become a part of America. It is true that the Europeans have had to do more than have the American colonies to improve people’s lives and also that they have been persecuted in their native lands and they have been persecuted at the hands of many of the whites who live in the United States and live in the colonies. But there is no need for political persecution in the colonies. The Europeans are free; they live a better life. No one cares about the slaves. Americans did not want to give up slavery and they did not want to kill anybody. They knew that we would die and that we must live well. Everyone knew that America would never get off the ground, that everything would be perfect, that Americans would all die in America and that everyone would live as if nothing was wrong. We would all learn to live in America and that America could live just like anyone else.
In contrast to these attempts at political persecution, there were attempts to create freedom wherever possible. They are all efforts to help people to get more food, to get more jobs for the American population, to buy more food, to increase money in life and education. However, the abolition of slavery was fought off because of racism, and it has not even affected the people in America who can make
