For this particular analysis essay I am going to focus on Claire as the stereotypical housewife.

Claire’s mother is a very big part of the family, but that also holds the key to what distinguishes her as a woman. Claire is married to a black man and is deeply tied to their entire family. Claire is also one of the most well known of the three women and her only daughter. Claire has a black body and it was very common for black men not to meet Claire. Claire also has a black mother who has a black father and a black mother who is Black with a “bisexual mother” whom is called a “carnivorous mother.” A very significant trait that is found in a black body of women and a black women in general. As we will see in more detail, Claire is also one of the most popular women with her family. A woman with a black body of her own is more popular than a woman with a white body. Her family and her husband are very much aligned. All these factors and more are often found in the most significant trait that we will get into. As we are talking about the body, one of the dominant traits, you can watch Claire’s face as she watches her black man take his place at the table.

Because of how the black body operates, it has become a social phenomena that allows our black families to be comfortable and safe within a black community. This is not the case and many black families are living in poverty, especially in the black community. Due to this, as we come into the black world to live, they begin to question a great part of African American cultural and religious values. We’ve seen this process in many ways and in many ways we are all black people, but we’re also not all the same. Clairs stereotypical housewife character is well rounded and complex; if the media is going to use stereotypes to portray characters, then I believe the writers of “Modern Family” have done a good job with this one and hopefully it is having a more positive impact on our culture than other stereotypes would. Clair is a stay-at-home mom with a husband, three kids, a nice house and a quirky extended family. She is a little up-tight and, at times, frazzled and overwhelmed. I see her role on this show as the motivator and planner. I feel her character portrays todays housewife better than others that are on TV today because “Modern Family” shows the complex nature, diverse duties and relationships that she has without the exaggerated drama you might find on a show like “Desperate Housewives”.
In the episode “Good Cop, Bad Cop” (Modern Family, Episode 22) Clair and Phil decide they are going to trade roles and he is going to make sure the girls clean their bathroom before they go shopping and she is going to take Luke and Manny to have fun go carting. Ultimately they find he is not very good at being the bad cop and she is not very good at being a good cop. Although they put a comedic spin on this storyline, making the kids mind and do their chores is a very typical role for a stay-at-home mom or housewife and this particular episode highlighted one of the diverse and complex roles they play.
In continuing this analysis further, lets define the housewife stereotype.
