Education: Mary finished high school in year 12 with advanced levels in all subjects including math, English, science and history. She went on to teachers college where she studied primary school teaching.

Vocational: During high school and college Mary worked in a health food store on a casual basis. Upon finishing college she became employed at a local catholic primary school teaching the kindergarten class. She stayed at the school for 13 years until she became pregnant and left the work force. 10 years ago she returned to the work force working in a childcare centre and then working from home as a family day care carer. She currently looks after 5 and six children ranging from 6months to four years of age five days a week.

Interests: Mary enjoys reading, walking and is responsible for most of the household chores including meal preparation, washing, cleaning and ironing. She also is busy taking care of her four teenage daughters and has to drive around a lot

Family: Mary is married with four children aged 16, 19, 21 and 24 the youngest still attends high school. The family can be described as close. Her husband has worked their entire married life as a civil engineer

OCCUPATIONAL SEARCH INVENTORY
The results generated from this assessment indicated interest in the scientific, culture and persuasive categories. This indicates that Mary perceives herself to be, intellectual, patient, methodical and analytical as well as being tolerant, impartial mature and reflective. The results also indicate that she perceives herself to be enthusiastic, shrewd aggressive and sociable. Mary gave an average overall level of responding for the OSI-2 indicating no high response tendency. This average response indicates the need for further inspection for other aspects of the client profile. The responses generated from this test display that Mary is interested in the persuasion of others, influencing and changing opinions, science and science based theories as well as culture in religion, social institutions and the communication of ideas. Possible occupations that could be considered can include but are not limited to education, journalism and humanities related jobs as well as real estate, hospitality and sales.

CONGRUENCE PERONALITY SCALE
This assessment generated low scores in social orientation, cognitive orientation and emotional orientation. High scores in interpersonal and task orientation where also generated. Thus indicating that Mary could be described as an introvert and inwardly emotional who dislikes being the centre of attention that would prefer to follow rather than lead, it is also indicated that Mary prefers simplistic solutions and straightforward thinking. It is also apparent through this assessment that Mary is not inclined to suffer from intense mood swings and can remain calm and feel secure and relaxed when under pressure. Mary can be also described as a sensitive person who can put aside her own needs to assist others. It is also indicative of this assessment that Mary is able to put a lot of faith in others and be tolerant. Mary can be described as a self disciplined individual who is able to motivate and plan effectively.

This assessment tested work aspects such as independence, co workers, self development, creativity, money, life style, prestige, altruism, security, management, detachment, physical activity and surroundings. Marys results were:

Independence: Mary got an average score for this category indicating that she doesnt mind being told what to do at work but can still work independently

Co workers: for this category Mary scored averagely indicating that she would like to work with people who are like minded
Self development: Mary scored highly for this category meaning that she wants to be in a job where there are opportunities for self development
Creativity: results indicate that creativity isnt of high importance
Money: the assessment indicated that money is a vital work aspect for Mary
Life style: results indicated that Mary does not want her work life to impinge upon her lifestyle
Prestige: Mary wants people to value and see the importance of her work
Altruism: helping others is an important factor
Security: job security is an important aspect
Management: results divulge that Mary wants to be in charge of other workers
Detachment: Mary wants to be able to leave her work at work and not have to worry about it in her spare time
Physical activity: Physical activity appeals to Mary but is not a vital factor
Surroundings: Mary wants to work in pleasant surroundings
